like night and day
Are you a morning person or a night person?
I'm not really sure anymore. I started out being a night person, messing around with HTML 1.0 in high school until the sun was almost up. It continued like that until I ended up at Evil Corporate Dot Com, and switched to working 7-3 so that I could be home by 4 and have plenty of daylight to play. (This required being up at 5:30am - joy.) Now, I've started to slip into the spouse-unit's ungodly hours, going to bed on average around 2 or 3am and getting up around 10am or noon. Noon! My father would be horrified.
I'd really like to go back to mornings, as I can't help but feel more productive when I get started early in the day. Must be a throwback to my childhood, when my mother would wake me up at 4am for chores. She would be up cooking or cleaning because she couldn't sleep and would inevitably come in and tell a groggy me "just take out the trash for me; you can go back to sleep after that". And I would dutifully do it, only to be ambushed on my way back to bed with another task, like putting away the dishes or something menial. Anyhow, I'm sure this has rubbed off on my subconscious because I feel guilty if I'm not up by 8am, seven days a week. (Yeah, I'm working up a lot of guilt lately!)
A little more night time though - it's a double-edged sword for me, as I get waaaay more work (as in coding) done late at night. And I have a lot of work to get done in the next few weeks. Bleah.

I don't know what it is about doing chores so early in the morning. It certainly didn't rub off on me as an adult.
